In ancient times, the Guru used to take his disciples to Gurukulas and give them education, where they were given intellectual and physical rites. In today’s time, the school is different from the Gurukulas, but even today the school is considered as the temple of knowledge. My school, M.K Secondary School, Bhairav Nagar, is an ideal school. It has a calm and picturesque atmosphere. The most important feature of the school is its excellent infrastructure. It is spacious, clean, well-maintained, and has good lighting and ventilation. The school has a well-stocked library, science labs, and computer labs. It provides good opportunities to students to develop their personality and social value. It is a co-educational school and it has a peaceful and beautiful campus. My school is situated in the heart of the city and is one of leading educational institutions. The performance of our students has been excellent and the teachers very experienced and qualified. The school has progressed very well under the able leadership of our principal who is very cultured and disciplined. She appears committed to the all-round development of the school and our students have great respect for her. The trees and plants in the courtyard of my school are very relaxing to look at. They have been there for as long as I can remember and they have matured nicely. When I go to my classroom, I can look out the window and see some of the trees. It’s nice that they are so close to the school because whenever I have free time between classes I can go outside and walk around. It’s nice to be able to stretch my legs and enjoy the scenery, as well as get some fresh air while I’m at it. I feel a lot better when I go outside and look at the trees and plants. Discipline is vital to any school’s success. It’s important that students listen and follow directions. For the students in my school, discipline is very important; we must follow the strict rules created by our principal and teachers. Students need to develop good study habits and enjoy reading and writing. Students are encouraged to participate, but they need to be respectful to others and contribute to class discussions. We are not allowed to leave the class without permission. In my school, we take part in all kinds of extra activities, such as drama and sport.  After school, I do an extracurricular drama class, and at weekends I play football with my friends.  I really enjoy these activities, even though it can be hard to fit them in with homework, school assemblies and music practice.  It’s really important to keep busy, to be a well-rounded person, so I’m glad that my school pushes us to get involved in these things. The students’ council of my school organizes a lot of events and they make sure they spread awareness amongst the students about the things going on in the country like Republic Day, Independence day, Children’s day and Gandhi Jayanti. On Republic Day, we organize events like competitions on patriotic songs, readings about freedom fighters. My favorite activities are ‘Republic Day’ and the ‘Independence Day’ where the principal dresses up as Mahatma Gandhi and hoists the Indian flag to celebrate India’s freedom from the British rule and it’s a really nice feeling to sing our national anthem, ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and all the kids/students stand up and sing it with pride.
